Fruit Infused Water

We have a full blown LaCroix addiction in our house, with Apricot being the preferred flavor and Pamplemousse coming in second. However, I was beginning to feel like I was drinking too much carbonated water and read that drinking so many canned beverages was bad for you because of the BPA. So I decided I should wean myself off the LaCroix train, at least a little bit. Some days I would drink up to three of them!

So, in an effort to stay hydrated and limit my LaCroix intake, I've been playing with infused water recipes. Or as Andrew and I like to call it, Spa Water :) One time we visited my parents at a hotel they were staying at and they had the best spa water in the lobby. If I remember correctly, it was strawberries, lime and mint. We thought it tasted like a healthy virgin margarita!

Since I thought these were so tasty and it's been helping me drink more water, I wanted to share my favorite combinations with you. It really is a perfect summer drink! Make some for yourself, or for an end of summer BBQ. And I know some find water a little boring, so if that's you give infused water a try. It's just as delicious and much healthier than Crystal Light or the other mix-in flavor options.

Blueberries & Orange
gives you healthier skin and helps clean free radicals out of your system

Ginger, Lemon & Mint
 great for skin

Berries & Basil
antioxidants & helps remove toxins

Lemon, Cucumber & Mint
Cucumber can help reduce stress, and the lemon and mint aids in weight loss and gives your body natural electrolytes

Watermelon & Mint
a hydrating and refreshing summer combination!

Cucumber, Blackberry & Mint
helps with hydration and suppresses appetite

Strawberry, Lime & Mint
helps flush toxins from your system

Here are a few more combinations I plan to try soon:

Cucumber & Pomegranate - helps with managing stress and bloating
Strawberry, Basil & Lemon - helps boost immunity
Grapefruit & Rosemary - like a fancy cocktail infusion with a ton of vitamin C to help your body turn fat into fuel
Pear & Ginger - helps with digestion
Blackberry & Sage - relaxing
Pineapple, Orange & Mint - stabilize blood sugar and reduce inflammation
Raspberry, Mango & Lime - anti-aging and disease prevention

Do you like infused water? If so, did I miss any must try combinations?
